Who dares to talk about sleep

“Sleep is a huge deal – not for babies and children; they will sleep when they sleep but for parents. It is an emotive subject.”

Philippa Perry, The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read.

While in the Middle Eastern folk’s tale of 1001 Nights, every night Shahrazad has to come up with a new story to tell the king, so he would stay awake and she would stay alive; we as parents, in our first 1000 days of parenthood, try every possible way or method for the sake of making our babies sleep.

In the weeks ahead we will be focusing on this important (even critical) topic for most young parents out there, who seek to find an effective and sustainable way to put their babies to sleep. We will be collecting and sharing different perspectives, from parents and professionals, on the issue of sleep in the first 1000 days of a baby.

You are welcome to send us a few lines, a short piece or even a longer one if you would like to, sharing your experience. You can also volunteer for an interview (anonymous or not) about your experience with your baby/child.

The more we share, the more we create comfort among other parents who might be struggling with this issue. Please take a look at the following video for inspiration if you would like to contribute with your story.
